Honoring a Selfless Servant: Continuing the Journey of Guidance and Support
Remembering late Sh. Narayan Singh Ji Payal: A Farmer, an Agricultural Scientist and Selfless Servant of the society
Sh. Bhagwan Singh Ji Payal (July 10th, 1938 - December 7th, 2020) was the fourth son of the late Shri Narayan Singh Ji Payal, a farmer renowned for his agricultural expertise despite lacking formal education. Hailing from the village of Sangasi in Mukundgarh, Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan, Narayan Singh Ji's fields consistently yielded abundant crops through his years of meticulous observation and hard work. Despite his prosperity, he never held onto wealth, entrusting financial matters to his wife and sons. Known for his selflessness, he generously provided food to those in need who passed through his village, Sangasi. He also instructed his wife and sons to provide grains, ghee, and money to those who were in need. His unwavering dedication, selfless service, and impartial demeanor garnered him profound respect within the community.

Late Sh. Bhagwan Singh Ji - A Dedicated Educator
Late Sh. Bhagwan Singh Ji, our father, chose to follow in his own father's footsteps, albeit in the field of education. After completing his studies at esteemed institutions like Churu Govt. College and Pilani Govt. College ( now BITS-Pilani), he embarked on a career as a lecturer in higher education. Remarkably, he achieved the distinction of being the first North Indian to top in his master's degree in political science at Rajasthan University.

Notably, Sh. Bhagwan Singh Ji was among the pioneering faculty members at Banasthali University who hailed from rural backgrounds. After teaching at Banasthali University for several years, he made a heartfelt decision to resign and joined the Government of Rajasthan as a lecturer, driven by his desire to benefit both genders alike. His mastery of the subject and engaging teaching style made him a beloved figure among his students.

Despite his expertise in political science, Sh. Bhagwan Singh Ji maintained an apolitical profile throughout his career, prioritizing his responsibilities as a lecturer, later advancing to the roles of principal and Joint Director in the Education Department. He approached each role with utmost seriousness, always committed to fulfilling his entrusted duties.

Emulating his father's example, our father never sought financial compensation for the guidance and coaching he provided to his students. His doors were always open, extending support in various capacities. Students approached him for career advice, coaching, assistance with paperwork such as form signing and certificate attestation, composing different types of applications, aid in writing PhD thesis, financial help and numerous other tasks. Affectionately known as "Dhoti kurta wale Guruji," he was recognized for his preference for wearing a Khadi dhoti & kurta instead of shirt & trousers, he used to wear in his education days, as a follower of Gandhiji.
Living a Life of Simplicity and Generosity
He led an incredibly modest lifestyle, evident in the fact that we have never witnessed him owning more than two sets of dhoti-kurta, both made from khadi fabric. He consistently maintained, "The government provides me with more than what I require, considering the value of the work I contribute during college hours." Similar to his father, he never held onto money. Instead, the responsibility of managing his finances fell upon an unrelated individual.

A Father's Influence on Education and Success
Our father dedicated himself to ensuring that his three sons received a good education. His eldest son, followed his footsteps and went on to pursue a B.Tech and later completed his MBA. He was among the first few B.Tech with an MBA, hailing from the region. The educational benchmarks set by our grand father and father have not only inspired future generations of the Payal family but also society as a whole.
Similarly, our father desired that his two younger sons also pursue engineering from the prestigious Institutes. The younger ones also tried to meet his expectations. With father's guidance and hard work, Sudhakar pursued a commerce degree and joined the finance department of the Government of Rajasthan. As the youngest sibling, Sanjay completed his B.Tech, and joined the corporate sector at Mumbai. All three of us acknowledge that without a father like him, we would not have achieved what we have today.
An Enduring Companion and Guiding Force: Late Smt. Saraswati Payal
Throughout our father's life, he had a steadfast companion who stood by his side—our mother, Late Smt. Saraswati Payal. Although a simple and not even having formal education, she firmly believed in the importance of education for her daughters-in-law and granddaughters. She held no distinction between grandsons and granddaughters, ensuring equal opportunities for all. In the village Sangasi, she is fondly remembered for her helpful and lively nature. No one ever left her doorstep hungry or empty-handed. She was the glue that held our family together.
After retirement also, individuals frequently sought assistance from our father, whether he was residing in the Village, Sikar, Jaipur, Delhi & Mumbai. Our mother not only supported her husband but also helped to those who approached him, ensuring they were accommodated with lodging and boarding arrangements.
Her passing in 2007 was an irreplaceable loss for our entire family. Even after more than15 years, the void left by her departure remains unfilled. Her memory and influence continue to shape our lives, and we cherish the invaluable role she played in our family's journey.

Inspiring Support for Education and Growth
Through this platform, our family aims to honor the memory of a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to altruistic endeavors, becoming a source of inspiration for our family and society as a whole. We sincerely intend to continue our late father's teaching by providing guidance and support to disadvantaged young individuals in their educational endeavors and professional growth.
Collectively, we are resolute in preserving the wisdom passed down from our grandfather and father and making valuable contributions to our chosen domains. By pooling our efforts, we strive to create a modest yet meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and the wider community in which we operate.
